I had a little bit of a run in with a tree at the weekend ( don't ask!) and have managed to put two smallish holes in the mainsail near the clew. Will I be ok to continue with these holes or should I be looking to repair?

Sails always get small holes. I would patch with spinnaker tape and continue.

Hello.

I've recently taken a lot of interest in the Vareo and have been eyeing up a boat that also has a bit of hole damage near the clew.

Is spinaker tape better than mylar tape?

Will tape repairs hold strong enough on mylar sails?

I did a search for info about repairing mylar sails and the results suggested replacement was the only realistic option.

Si.

You may need to get it patched if its in a high tensile section (any of those 3 corners really).
Tape may patch it but i'd probably get it stitched as well.
